The Journey
Miu and Aya met in 2012 when they were performers with the Japanese Yosakoi Dance Company, 10tecomai. They both loved the blend of traditional and modern dance and the high energy of the Yosakoi dance style. With passion and skills in theater, comedy and a mix of dance styles and performance techniques Chikyu to the Moon was born. We use the spirit, energy of festival dance and funk with the contemporary dance, creative story telling and theater. Imaginative, dynamic and enchanting entertainment unfolds in each production.
Chikyu to the moon has performed in festivals and events in the New York area including Multicultural Dance Festival in Harlem, Fertile Ground at Greenspace Studios. Current projects are branching into multi media works combining sound, art installations, live site specific performance and theater.
